So You Think You Can Hoop July 7-8 At Oracle Arena

“So You Think You Can Hoop” 3-On-3 Competition Set For July 7-8 At Oracle Arena

The Golden State Warriors have signed-on as a presenting sponsor for So You Think You Can Hoop, the Bay Area’s premier outdoor 3-on-3 basketball competition and basketball festival, which is slated to take place from July 7-8 at Oracle Arena, the team announced today.

So You Think You Can Hoop, which was founded by Oakland City Council Member Desley Brooks in conjunction with Goodwin Sports Management, is an outdoor basketball competition in which teams of three compete against one another in a double elimination style tournament. The tournament is open to players and teams of all ages, sizes and skill levels, as there are 12 different divisions for adults, youth, men and women of varying height and abilities.

In addition to the fast-paced and competitive 3-on-3 games, the basketball festival will also include slam dunk contests, three-point shootouts and the Comcast SportsNet Family Fun Zone, featuring the SportsCaster Experience, bounce houses, face painting, youth basketball clinics, dance clinics from the Warrior Girls, performances by the Flying Dubs dunk team and much more.

“The Warriors are proud to be a presenting sponsor of this great event that is taking place right in our backyard at Oracle Arena,” said Warriors President Rick Welts. “As the Bay Area’s NBA team, a community tournament and basketball-themed festival is a natural fit for us and we look forward to being a big part of this event for years to come.”

Registration for teams in 11 of the 12 divisions is FREE, while the entry fee for the Top Flight men’s open adult division is $99 per team, if paid by June 8, 2012, and $150 if paid between June 9-22, 2012. For complete details and team registration, visit soyouthinkyoucanhoop.com.

Additional sponsors of So You Think You Can Hoop include: Pacific Gas Electric, City of Oakland, Comcast, KBLX 102.9 FM and the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 55.
