3-on-3 hoops tourney in Arbuckle
Arbuckle Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a 3-on-3 basketball tournament May 19 to benefit the Pierce High School boys basketball program. Games will be played in both the north and the south gym. Fun run and walk in Williams
The 5th annual Fun Run is being held in Williams on May 19. There are courses of one mile and a 5K, and the gun goes off at 8 a.m. The $20 pre-registration deadline is May 11, with the entry fee $25 after that. There is also a free Kid’s Challenge on the track for kids 9 and under. There will be age-group awards, ribbons, prizes and refreshments. Proceeds go to Williams High to help with the purchase of an electronic sign for the front lawn.

Kids Fish Day in Colusa County
The Colusa County Flycasters are holding their 25th annual Colusa County Kids Fish Day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 12 at Little Stony Creek, just past the Little Stony Creek Campground.
The fish day is free to all children ages 12 and under. The first 100 kids will receive a T-shirt, cap and a goodie bag from the U.S. Forest Service. Approximately 900 rainbow trout will be planted in three age-group sections. Each child may keep a limit of five trout.

Drop-in pickleball

Adult softball league
The Truckee-Donner Recreation Park District is offering its summer adults softball leagues, with returning team registration available now and new team registration starting April 16. Cost is $620 for a men’s team is $620 and $520 for a coed team, with a $140 player’s fee due at the first game. The men’s season starts May 21. Coed begins May 29. Youth wrestling tourney today at OHS
The 6th Ward Athletic Club will sponsor the sixth annual Eddigate Colone Royal Rumble Wrestling Festival at 2:30 p.m. today at Oneonta High.
The tournament is for Oneonta students from Center Street, Valleyview, Riverside, Greater Plains and Oneonta Middle School in grades 3-8. No experience is necessary.
Students who have signed up will ride a bus to OHS and arrive at 2 p.m. The tournament should end between 5:30-6 p.m. Students will need their own rides home.
Participants will wrestle 2-3 matches in groups based on age and size. Students will be grouped by approximate body weight within their division (grades 3-4, 5-6 and middle school).
There is no cost to participate, but wrestlers must have parental permission and appropriate clothing (shorts, T-shirt and sneakers or wrestling shoes). Each wrestler will receive a free T-shirt. Medals will be awarded for places 1-4 and a team trophy will be presented to the school with the most participants.
Matches consist of three one-minute periods and will be officiated by coaches and college and high school wrestlers.
A concession stand will be open and offer hot dogs, pizza, drinks and snacks.

Milford basketball tourney is today
Milford Central will host the Milford Education Foundation’s annual 3-on-3 Co-Ed Basketball Tournament at 5:30 p.m. today.
The tournament will feature brackets for grades 5-12 and adults. Each team must have male and female players.

The Laurens Booster Club will hold its annual 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament today and Saturday.

The Student Tournament starts at 9 a.m. Saturday and has boys and girls divisions for grades 5-6, 7-9 and 10-12. Parents/guardians must sign waivers for a student to participate.

AAU girls basketball tryouts Sunday
The Catskill Mountain Girls Basketball Club will hold the last tryout for its competitive AAU travel teams Sunday at the Oneonta Boys and Girls Club.
Tryouts for players in grades 6-8 run from 11:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m., followed by tryouts for ninth-11th graders from 1-2:45 p.m. Registration begins 30 minutes before the tryout.
A non-refundable tryout fee of $25, which will cover AAU registration and expenses, is required at registration. The player-participation fee is $300 per person and covers the cost of tournament player registrations and uniforms.

The Oneonta Boys and Girls Club will host the 14th annual Duke Invitational Basketball Tournament from March 26-31.
Cost is $125 per team, with a maximum of 12 players on each roster, and is due March 17. Late registrations will not be accepted.
Space is limited. Teams will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis. The tournament features boys and girls divisions for ages 12-and-under, 13-15 and 16-18.
A portion of the money raised will benefit the Boston Hospital Children’s Heart Foundation in memory of Vincent Duke Johnsson.

FSU sand volleyball
Two days after winning the nation’s first-ever collegiate sand volleyball match, the Seminoles captured another impressive victory at Tulane in New Orleans.
The Seminoles didn’t drop a set en route to defeating the Green Wave, 5-0. FSU improved to 2-0 and has dropped just one set in two matches.
Senior Visnja Djurdjevic posted a match-high 20 kills to go along with five aces and eight digs.
FSU returns to action Thursday and Friday at the Clash of the Collegians tournament in Winter Haven.
TCC baseball
Tyler York’s bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 10th inning scored Trent Higginbothem with the winning run in the Eagles’ 8-7 win over Grand Rapids (Mich.) Community College in game one of a five-game series.
The win snapped a two-game losing streak for TCC (15-7).
Leading 7-5, Grand Rapids was one out away from a victory in the ninth inning, but Bobby Rice (North Florida Christian) singled up the middle to score Nolan Thomas and Nick Graganella (North Florida Christian) and send the game to extra innings.
In addition to Miller Jones, Rice (2 for 3, three RBIs) and Graham Saiko (2 for 5) had multi-hit games for TCC.
The teams will continue their series with doubleheaders on Tuesday and Wednesday. Game times both days have been moved up to 2 p.m. after originally being scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
FAMU cheerleading
The Rattlers placed third in the Co-Ed Division at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Cheerleading Championship in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Sunday.
The competition serves as the opening event to the MEAC men’s and women’s basketball tournament, which started Monday.
Morgan State claimed the overall team championship for the cheerleading competition.

Taylor County High School will be hosting a 3-on-3 basketball tournament Saturday, March 24.
The Perry Hoop Dreamz 3-on-3 Tournament will feature eight divisions and take place at the Taylor County gymnasium. The divisions include: Elementary for boys and girls, Middle School for boys and girls, High School for boys and girls and Post-High School for men and women.
The double-elimination tournament will cost $30 per team. All proceeds will benefit the Taylor County athletic department.
Registration will be March 24 from 8 to 9 a.m. Games will begin at 10 a.m., and run straight through until there’s a champion.
The winners will receive championship T-shirts — and bragging right for a year.

2002 celebration at Park City Ice Arena
The Park City Ice Arena is excited to host a celebration for the 10th anniversary of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. The event is an open-skate session scheduled for Feb. 11 from 1 to 2:15 p.m. and it is free (admission and skate rentals) to the public. During this event, the public is invited to skate with Olympic athletes and grab them for a picture or an autograph. Basin Rec’s 3-on-3 tournament

Youth holiday 3-on-3 basketball tourney slated Dec. 29-31
GAYLORD — Otsego County Parks and Recreation will host a holiday 3-on-3 basketball tournament Dec. 29-31. The tournament is for students in third through eighth grades.
Each grade bracket will be limited to the first six teams that register. There are four players per team and each team is guaranteed three games. Cost is $40 per team, and the games will be officiated.
Registration deadline is Monday, Dec. 26. Team captains will be contacted with their first game time on Tuesday, Dec. 27.
Individual awards will be given to first- and second-place teams. There will be separate brackets for boys and girls in each grade. Third-graders will play with an 8-foot rim and all others will play with a 10-foot rim. All games will be played at the Otsego County Community Center. GAYLORD — Otsego County Parks and Recreation is accepting registrations for an adult basketball league. Each team will play 10 regular season games, followed by a double elimination tournament.
